This position is pivotal in providing fundamental administrative support by developing, implementing, and maintaining the H&S culture at Felinfach. The role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees while minimising operational risk.

About the role: Health & Safety Officer
As the Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of health, safety requirements. Reporting directly to the Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager, your role will include the planning, implementation, and review of safety strategies and environmental measures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and promoting best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day administration of all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Ensure all personnel are fully aware of policies and procedures.
- Assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing safety and environmental strategies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Support legislative compliance auditing across all relevant legislation.
- Assist with in-house safety and environmental training, including inductions for new employees.
- Keep accurate records of incidents and accidents, producing statistics for management review.
- Gather and manipulate data for key performance indicators.
What we need from you as the new Health & Safety Officer
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
- High attention to detail with the ability to challenge the status quo.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Data analysis and reporting experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification, or equivalent.
- Experience in conducting internal audits.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems (ISO 14001) would be an advantage.
